Community Engagement in Satrikh

Jal Shukriya Chaupal
Through advocacy efforts, TSF has been successful in selection of a pond at Satrikh Udasin Ashram, under Amrit Sarover scheme. The BDO office has started work. TSF has organised a meetings with community members to discuss about water quality and cleanliness.

Training of Women Self-help Group
A group of women from SHGs were trained to make a unique product - Gratitude Smileys. These 'smileys' are used as part of Vibha's Gratitude Joyshop under her global Gratitude Mission as well as gifts to individuals as a token of appreciation for their support/advice/time, etc.

Training of SHG - Cotton Jhola
A select group of SHG women have been trained to stitch simple cotton jhola, for which raw material (old bedsheets/sarees) are provided by TSF.

Mental Health Awareness
TSF organised training of Mangal Dal youth (30) in corrdination with BDO Harakh. The training was regarding use of unique floor games, to talk about mental health and break stigma.

Gaushala
TSF has studied a couple of models of Gaushalas. Based on the request of Nanak Saran Das, Mahant Udasin Ashram, TSF initiated work to build Gaushala.

Sharing - Meals, Blankets and Clothes
TSF organised a Bhandara on bada mangal, at Satrikh Udasin Ashram. TSF has donated new blankets to needy people during winters, through Udasin Ashram. It has also donated clothes to local community through the Ashram.

Restoration of Satrikh Udasin Ashram
Satrikh Udasin Ashram building is in dilapidated condition. With the objective to conserve and restore the Ashram building from heritage conservation perspective, TSF connected with INTACH, New Delhi for intial assessment of the building. It presented the project to the District Magistrate (Sri Satyendra Kumar in January 2024 and also send reports to the Chief Secretary, UP Govt., and the Chief Minister.

Programs at Udasin Ashram
Vibha, the Co-founder of TaraSri Foundation, visited Satrikh with her mother, Smt. Tara Choudhry, daughter of Late Sri Shivram Choudhary, who used to come to Satrikh since 1930s, from Kanpur/Maurawan. It is through this connect, that Vibha decided to do restore the Ashram building and undertake social work in Satrikh. Ever since Vibha started coming to Satrikh from 29th March 2022, she and her family, has been participating and contributing in various activities of the Ashram, e.g., Bhandara, Ardaas, Guru Purab, birthday of Srichand Bhagwaan, etc.

Drainage system
TSF brought the issue of poor condition of water drainage in Ashram's land. It led to visit of then SDM Smt. Preeti Singh in January 2023 and based on her orders, dirty water drain issue was rectified by the BDO and nagar panchayat office.

District Administration-Barabanki
Pleased with TaraSri Foundation's work in Barabanki and the work that Vibha, the Co-founder has been doing internationally, District Magistrate nominated her for Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman, in November 2023.
In addition to Girls Fellowship program in Barabanki, children's library in Harakh BDO complex, the library in Udasin Ashram compound and playground in Satrikh village are village sepcific projects initiated by the Foundation. It is important to mention that we have only two staff for the library and Girls Fellowship program, and all projects and work is managed by a team of dedicated volunteers.
